POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up laser for pipe alignment
- Cut pipes to required lengths
- Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
- Lay out pipe routes, following specs or blueprints, and coordinate layouts with supervisor
- Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
- Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement or glue
- Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices
- Cover pipes with earth or other materials
- Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools
- Promote and adhere to the company’s safety program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Pipelayer.
- GED or High school diploma
