American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Dallas, TX, specializing in cardiopulmonary care.

AM shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), variable days

13-week travel contract

Associate degree in a related field (e.g., AS in Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory Care) required

Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience

Active RRT credential required
-
Active TX Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required (license required if applicable)

BLS certification through AHA required
-
General computer proficiency, including electronic medical documentation
-
Ability to work under stressful conditions and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Two professional references required for consideration

Flu vaccination is mandatory; no exemptions granted

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Administer respiratory care services including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medications, airway clearance, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and bedside spirometry per physician orders

Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in emergency situations
-
Review physician orders, analyze diagnostic test results, and implement approved protocols as appropriate

Assess and document patient response to therapy, report outcomes, and make clinical recommendations

Instruct patients in the use of respiratory care equipment and coach patients to improve technique

Collaborate professionally with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including other clinicians and students
