Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to provide in-home care for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities and ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in home health, activities daily living skills, or long-term care environments and possess a strong commitment to quality patient care. Candidate must be comfortable with pets.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication reminders and following care plans and HIPAA guidelines
- Monitor health signs and observe patient conditions to report any changes to healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal planning and preparation
- Utilize equipment to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges
- Maintain cleanliness of the client’s living space through light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry
- Support clients during outings or community activities to promote independence and social engagement
- Document care provided accurately in compliance with agency policies and state regulations
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and infection control procedures
- Two errands weekly (May not apply)
Requirements
- Prior experience in home care, assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s/dementia/memory care techniques and experience working with residents with complex needs preferred
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Ability to lift fifty pounds safely and perform physical tasks required for patient support
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with healthcare teams, patients, and families
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve clients’ quality of life
- Valid driver’s license preferred for community-based services
