About the Role
The Outreach & Training Coordinator plays a vital role in recruiting, training, and supporting CASA volunteer advocates who serve children in Chester and Delaware Counties. This is a highly relational, externally facing role that requires a dependable, self-directed professional who can build community connections, represent CASA with professionalism, and follow through consistently on volunteer recruitment and engagement efforts.
The position requires regular in-person outreach, training facilitation, and attendance at community and volunteer events, including some evenings and weekends. The Outreach and Training Coordinator must be able to manage multiple priorities independently, maintain strong communication and follow-up, and serve as a reliable ambassador for CASA in support of the organization’s growing need for volunteer advocates.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Outreach
- Develop and execute creative, consistent strategies to recruit a diverse pool of volunteer advocates in support of CASA’s growing program needs.
- Serve as a visible and reliable representative of CASA in the community by attending outreach and networking events, information sessions, volunteer fairs, and partner meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, businesses, schools, faith communities, and community leaders to expand CASA’s volunteer pipeline.
- Collaborate on development of marketing and public relations materials, including generating social media content.
- Conduct proactive outreach on behalf of CASA, including follow-up with prospective volunteers, community partners, and referral sources.
- Track outreach efforts, evaluate recruitment outcomes, and adjust strategies to improve volunteer recruitment and conversion.
Training & Onboarding
- Manage and facilitate high-quality core advocate training sessions.
- Maintain and update training materials in collaboration with program leadership.
- Oversee submission and screening of application materials for all new advocates
- Volunteer Support & Retention
- Create ongoing engagement opportunities, support circles, and appreciation events.
- Develop and deliver continuing education opportunities for advocates.
- Monitor advocate satisfaction, gather feedback, and implement retention strategies.
- Participate in volunteer evaluation and feedback.
- Maintain timely, professional, and consistent communication with prospective and current volunteers to foster engagement, trust, and retention.
Collaboration & Program Support
- Coordination of Youth Voices Council (comprised of young adults formerly served by CASA), to include: ensuring that council meetings are regularly scheduled and attended by council members, introducing opportunities for council members to participate in outreach and education initiatives, recruiting new council members and accounting for their time and participation.
- Work with staff to integrate advocates into agency initiatives.
- Track and analyze data to inform best practices in recruitment and training.
- Provide case supervision for a small caseload of advocates.
- Independently manage competing priorities, deadlines, and follow-up tasks while exercising sound judgment and collaborating with program leadership as needed.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred in social services or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years’ experience in volunteer coordination, social services, or nonprofit work.
- Strong communication, training, and relationship-building skills.
- Skilled in volunteer engagement and community outreach.
- Knowledge of adult learning needs and comfort with different training modalities, including live, synchronous virtual, and asynchronous virtual.
- Excellent organization, detail-orientation, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Proficiency with technology and/or comfort with learning new technology products – to include Microsoft Office package, Airtable, Canva, Constant Contact, social media platforms, and agency specific case management database.
- Ability to work independently, while exercising good judgment on when to seek managerial guidance and collaboration.

The position is based in CASA’s Media office with at least twice monthly work from West Chester office. Due to nature of position, opportunities for remote work are very limited. The Outreach & Training Coordinator must be willing and able to travel across both Delaware and Chester counties, and attend occasional evening and weekend events, trainings, and outreach opportunities in support of volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
Salary & Benefits
$58,000 and high-quality benefits package, including generous PTO package, health care and dental with 90% employer premium coverage, 403b with employer match after one year of employment, life and short-/long-term disability coverage.
