American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric OR RN with strong neuro and ortho skills to circulate and scrub in a pediatric operating room, requiring an active DC RN license.

Pediatric OR unit within a children's hospital setting
-
Work settings include General OR, Pediatric General OR, and Trauma
-
1:1 patient ratio
-
Day shift schedule, four 10-hour shifts per week
-
Every other weekend and holiday coverage required, with one holiday guaranteed
-
Float required between NICU, PICU, and CICU across all ages
-
Uses Cerner charting system
-
13-week assignment length
-
Active RN license required; DC license required, with pending license accepted at submission if application date and pending license number are provided (active license required before start)

MD/VA applicants require compact or state license
-
Minimum 3 years of Pediatric OR experience required

Strong skills in neuro and orthopedic cases required (rated 3s and 4s on skills checklist)

BLS certification required

Cerner charting experience required

Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Skilled in both circulating and scrub roles, with scrub experience preferred

Experience with pediatric orthopedic, general surgery, endoscopy, ophthalmology, neurology, ENT, robotics, and transplant procedures

Knowledge of instrument processing, laser safety, radiation safety, sterilization/disinfection, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures

No prior travel experience required

No license or background check issues permitted

Must not have worked at this facility within the past year if a returning traveler

Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a wide range of pediatric surgical procedures including orthopedic, general, ophthalmologic, neurologic, ENT, and robotic surgeries

Experience with equipment such as electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources/cords required

Da Vinci Xi Surgical System experience preferred for robotic cases

Pre-start training modules must be completed prior to orientation
-
Maximum of 1 week RTO permitted; full-week RTO requires making up missed shifts or assignment may be extended
-
No RTO permitted after initial offer

Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
