Duties
- Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse learning styles and educational technology tools.
- Facilitate classroom activities that promote literacy, math skills, science exploration, and social studies understanding.
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments, standardized testing preparation, and performance data analysis to tailor instruction effectively.
- Plan and coordinate sacraments with other 2nd grade teachers
- Implement classroom management strategies to create a positive, respectful learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, special education accommodations, and behavior management techniques.
- Incorporate early childhood education principles and Montessori methods where applicable to support holistic development.
- Use effective communication skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff while providing ongoing feedback and support.
- Integrate learning technology such as tablets, interactive whiteboards, and educational software to enhance instruction.
- Support students with diverse needs by applying knowledge of childhood development, autism spectrum disorders, and early intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance data and prepare reports for parent-teacher conferences and school administration.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching young children in an elementary or early childhood setting.
- Experience working with students with special needs or in inclusive classrooms is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and standardized testing procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and developmental stages.
- Prior experience mentoring or tutoring students to achieve academic milestones.
- Knowledge of educational compliance regulations and best practices in behavior management.
- Experience integrating educational technology into daily lessons and classroom routines.
