The Pineapple School is looking for a caring, energetic, and dependable Spanish Tots Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role focuses on creating a fun, engaging, and nurturing Spanish immersion environment where children can learn through music, movement, play, and hands-on activities.
Our teachers help foster a safe and positive classroom while encouraging children’s social, emotional, and language development through meaningful daily interactions in Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Teaching and interacting with the tots in the Spanish language, exposing them to songs, finger plays, music and dance in Spanish.
- Following Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers at all times;
- Promoting the physical and emotional development of the tots in Spanish;
- Assisting with diaper-changing, hygiene and feeding; Conducting daily supervision of infants’ activities both indoors and outdoors;
- Helping to maintain classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness;
- Helping to maintain a safe and clean environment inside and outside the classroom, in compliance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers and current policies of the Pineapple School (this includes taking out the trash; proper sanitizing of tables, counters, bathrooms, and toys; and organizing drawers, cabinets and shelves);
- Safely lifting, carrying, and holding tots (up to 25 pounds) for extended periods as needed.
- Sitting on the floor with tots to attend to their needs and actively engage in play.
- Interacting with parents daily, regularly reporting positive observations of each tot;
- Utilizing Conscious Discipline strategies to promote self-esteem and awareness of others;
- Helping to prepare crafts and activities for and participating in special events and celebrations such as Easter and Día de los Muertos;
- Helping out in other areas of the Center as needed;
- Attending ongoing staff development activities, including our evening monthly staff meeting, and maintaining the required level of training hours (at present, 24 hours annually from start of employment, current CPR & First Aid certification, annual child abuse training; other requirements apply for caregivers with less than two years of experience in a licensed childcare center in Texas) with documentation.

Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Passion for working with young children in an early childhood education setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive, nurturing, and energetic classroom environment.
- Ability to actively engage with children indoors and outdoors daily.
