Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and local electrical codes for safety and quality assurance.
- Perform low voltage and high voltage wiring tasks for various applications including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and renovation projects.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems on construction sites or existing structures to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other trades like frame carpentry or handyman services to coordinate seamless project execution.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Skills
- Extensive experience working as an industrial or commercial electrician with a solid understanding of electrical systems in construction environments.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for complex electrical layouts.
- Strong knowledge of NEC regulations, low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and safety procedures.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and troubleshooting automation controls.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as testing instruments like ohmmeters.
- Ability to work confidently on renovation projects or new construction sites with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
