Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) working per diem under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized care plans for patients across various clinical settings.
- Perform therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, and other modalities under supervision.
- Conduct clinical assessments and document patient progress accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards and medical terminology.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively to support treatment sessions.
- Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) management, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and documentation standards.
- Support discharge planning by preparing reports on patient progress and collaborating with the healthcare team to facilitate smooth transitions.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, mobility techniques, and injury prevention strategies tailored to specific needs such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, or post-surgical recovery.
Experience
- Prior inpatient experience in hospitals or skilled nursing facilities is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated outpatient or clinic experience in physiotherapy or related fields such as orthopedics or geriatrics.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical assessment documentation, and medical documentation practices is essential.
- Proven ability to operate medical equipment used in physiotherapy treatments safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support accurate treatment delivery and patient education.
- Experience in home health or acute care environments is a plus, along with skills in discharge planning to ensure comprehensive patient care.
