Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
- Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and other modalities under supervision.
- Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions.
- Maintain detailed records of patient care using electronic health records (EHR) management systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify care plans based on patient progress and clinical assessments.
- Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers regarding treatment procedures, goals, and safety precautions.
- Support discharge planning processes by providing relevant documentation and patient education.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and physiotherapy protocols across all documentation.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in physical therapy treatment implementation including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as trigger point therapy.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy.
- Experience operating medical equipment used in physical therapy settings.
- Familiarity with clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent caregiver and client communication skills to foster trust and understanding.
- Prior inpatient or outpatient experience within skilled nursing facilities or home health environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of care plans for diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams across various settings such as outpatient clinics or acute care units.
