We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Truck Driver to join our logistics team! Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including, vans, tankers, hoppers, and other specialized vehicles.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency.
- Load and unload freight manually with equipment such as electric pallet jacks, ensuring proper handling of cargo.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation as required by DOT regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols during cargo handling, including manual handling techniques and securement procedures for different types of freight.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type operated.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driver roles.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards related to truck driving.
- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles preferred but not mandatory; training available if needed.
- Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during cargo loadings and unloadings.
- Familiarity with different truck types such as flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers is advantageous.
