American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Orthopedics/Podiatry Clinic role requiring a WI or Compact license and at least 1 year of prior orthopedics experience.

Outpatient orthopedics and podiatry clinic setting

Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

13-week assignment length

Patient population includes orthopedic conditions such as fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains
-
Duties include chart preparation, telephone triage, scheduling, dressing changes, splinting, and assisting with sterile procedures

Epic charting system experience preferred
-
Active WI or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission, must be obtained during compliance)

BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
-
NIHSS certification may be pending at submission but must be completed during compliance
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, including prior orthopedics experience

Charge nurse experience preferred

Skills in patient assessment, teaching, and universal precautions required

Experience with dressing changes, splinting, and assisting with procedures preferred

Coordinate and administer nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment of physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs

Perform telephone triage to determine appropriate level of care
-
Provide patient, family, and caregiver education

Administer immunizations and medications per established procedures
-
Facilitate completion of diagnostic testing as ordered by physicians
-
Communicate effectively across a variety of emotional and clinical situations
