Responsibilities
- Manage the intake process by conducting comprehensive assessments and gathering necessary documentation for new admissions
- Coordinate with clinical teams to determine appropriate placement based on client needs and facility capacity
- Verify insurance coverage, including managed care plans, and facilitate authorization for admission through utilization management procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records, discharge planning documentation, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Serve as a liaison between clients, families, referral sources, and external agencies to ensure smooth admission transitions
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and initial case management assessments to support individualized treatment planning
- Assist in post-acute care planning by coordinating outpatient or outpatient clinic services when appropriate
Requirements
- Proven experience in hospital or healthcare settings, particularly within acute care or inpatient behavioral health environments
- Familiarity with Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Center experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and patient assessment techniques relevant to addiction treatment and mental health counseling
- Experience working in social work, behavioral health, or addiction counseling roles with a focus on patient service and patient care
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, discharge planning, and diagnostic evaluation procedures
- Ability to navigate inpatient and outpatient settings effectively, including post-acute care coordination and utilization management processes
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to handle intake procedures efficiently while maintaining compassionate client interactions
