The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing nursing care, clinical operations, staff development, and infection prevention initiatives within our senior living community. This leadership role supports quality resident care, staff education, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across a 24/7 healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the DON with planning, coordinating, and managing nursing services

Support hiring, coaching, evaluating, and supervising nursing staff

Conduct clinical rounds and monitor resident conditions

Serve as co-designated Infection Preventionist in accordance with CMS, CDC, and IDPH guidelines
-
Coordinate staff education, orientation, competencies, and annual in-services
-
Support compliance with Federal and State regulations, HIPAA, and resident rights
-
Assist with scheduling coverage and staffing needs as necessary

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality resident care

Participate in on-call rotation and leadership coverage as needed
-
Coordinate employee TB testing and annual influenza vaccination programs
Qualifications
Required:
-
Active Illinois RN license in good standing
-
3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, or senior living
-
Current BLS/CPR certification
-
Strong understanding of IDPH, CMS, and long-term care regulations

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred:

BSN preferred
-
Infection Preventionist training/certification
-
Wound Care Certification (WCC or CWOCN)
