We are seeking an experienced Lab Technician / Junior Chemist to support daily laboratory operations by preparing samples, performing chemical and polymer testing, maintaining equipment, and documenting results for research and product development.
Location: Hillsborough, NJ 08844
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Pay: $60k-80k per year depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Polymer Sample Preparation — weigh, mix, blend, and process polymer materials, resins, monomers, and additives.
- Chemical & Polymer Testing — perform viscosity, rheology, FTIR, DSC, TGA, tensile, hardness, and other materials characterization tests.
- Analytical Testing — conduct pH, stability, appearance, and routine measurements.
- Reaction Support — assist with setup, monitoring, and documentation of chemical and polymer reactions, curing, and crosslinking.
- Sample Processing — cut, mold, extrude, or prepare polymer samples for testing.
- Documentation — maintain accurate lab notebooks, batch records, and test reports.
- Equipment Operation — operate mixers, ovens, balances, rheometers, FTIR, DSC, TGA, and other benchtop instruments.
- Safety & Compliance — follow chemical handling, PPE, and waste disposal procedures.
Preferred Background
- Experience in polymer, materials, chemical, or formulation laboratories.
- Hands‑on testing or characterization of polymers, resins, adhesives, coatings, elastomers, or plastics.
- Coursework or experience in chemistry, polymer science, materials science, or chemical engineering.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
