Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Cashier/Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic retail team. Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately and efficiently during retail sales transactions, including cash handling and balancing the cash drawer at shift end
- Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store displays are attractive and well-maintained in accordance with merchandising standards
- Assist in product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of various items
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support supervising staff by helping oversee daily store operations, including supervising team members when needed
Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably in grocery or specialty stores, with knowledge of retail math and cash register operations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain product features and answer customer questions
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and retail math is essential for accurate transactions
- Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership skills are preferred for supporting team activities
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for checkout processes
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stocking procedures, and product knowledge is beneficial
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create a positive shopping environment
