Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting with various clinical procedures. Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.
- Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, extractions, and other general dentistry treatments.
- Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, CBCT and TMJ assessments.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination.
- Review medical records for completeness and accuracy prior to procedures.
- Support all general dentistry cases with specialized cosmentic nowledge and gentle chairside assisting.
- Manage patient comfort and address concerns related to dental terminology or procedures using effective communication skills.
- Uphold HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience in dental office settings; experience with dental clinic operations preferred.
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience in general dentistry and four-handed dentistry is desirable.
- Ability to perform dental imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of dental coding, documentation review, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
