Busy insurance defense and medical malpractice litigation firm seeks an experienced paralegal to assist with cases involving health care, transportation, construction, and business litigation. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in defense litigation, preferably in insurance defense/medical malpractice, and an ability to perform the following tasks:
- Use Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Use other programs, such as Adobe and ShareFile.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, witnesses, other counsel, and experts in person, by email, and on the telephone.
- Obtain medical, radiology, employment, and billing records.
- Coordinate and schedule mediations, hearings, depositions, client meetings, conference calls, and trial.
- Prepare notebooks for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial.
- Assist in locating experts.
- Prepare extensive medical summaries and chronologies.
- Review and organize documents; create and maintain privilege logs; Bates label, redact, and index documents.
- Assemble and collate exhibits and legal documents to assist with the preparation of motions.
- Assist with trial preparation and provide trial support.
- Maintain monthly/yearly billable hours requirements.
- Assist multiple attorneys with various tasks.
