We are looking for a reliable CDL Class A driver for occasional equipment moves, truck pickups, and recovery work.
This is not a full-time driving position. Work is as needed. This role is ideal for a retired CDL driver, part-time driver, local driver, or experienced driver looking for occasional side work.
Assignments may include picking up purchased trucks, moving trucks between dealers, shops, yards, and driver launch locations, or recovering company equipment when needed.
We are looking for someone dependable, professional, and able to communicate clearly during each assignment.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver trucks as assigned
- Move trucks to and from dealerships, repair shops, yards, and driver locations
- Assist with occasional truck recovery when needed
- Complete basic pre-trip inspection before moving equipment
- Take photos and videos of truck condition before and after each move
- Provide clear updates, location, and ETA during the assignment
- Submit receipts and trip details after completion
- Follow company instructions and safety procedures
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A
- Minimum 2 years of tractor-trailer experience preferred
- Clean driving record preferred
- Must be reliable and available on short notice when possible
- Must be comfortable driving different trucks
- Must be able to complete basic inspections and identify obvious safety issues
- Must communicate clearly by phone/text
- Must be professional with company equipment
- Must be able to pass required driver verification and insurance approval
- Must be enrolled to drug consortium program
Preferred
- Retired CDL driver
- Former owner-operator
- Local or regional CDL driver looking for occasional side work
- Experience with truck transfers, recoveries, or dealership pickups
- Located near Tampa, Lakeland, Plant City, Orlando, or surrounding areas
Pay
Pay is per assignment and depends on the distance, location, and type of move.
Examples:
- Local truck move
- Same-day Florida move
- Out-of-state truck pickup or recovery
- Dealer/shop/yard transfers
Approved travel expenses may be covered depending on the assignment.
Important
This is an on-call position. There is no guaranteed weekly schedule. We are looking for dependable CDL drivers who want occasional work when equipment needs to be moved.
