Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent to lead and oversee roofing projects within the commercial construction sector. This role is vital in ensuring that roofing installations, repairs, and maintenance are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, extensive construction site experience, and a deep understanding of roofing systems, safety regulations, and project coordination. As a key leader on-site, you will coordinate teams, manage schedules, interpret technical drawings, and ensure compliance with all safety and construction regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate commercial roofing crews and subcontractors.
- Oversee daily jobsite operations and ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and roofing details.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, manpower, and jobsite logistics.
- Coordinate and communicate daily with the Operations Manager regarding project status, manpower, materials, scheduling, safety, production, and any field issues requiring attention.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure roofing systems are installed according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Oversee installation and repair of commercial roof systems.
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections and address quality-control issues.
- Enforce company and OSHA safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, customers, general contractors, and field personnel.
- Track labor, materials, production, and project progress.
- Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and warranty requirements.
- Maintain detailed project documentation including daily reports, safety logs, change orders, and progress updates using construction management software.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience supervising commercial roofing projects (required).
- 5+ years of experience supervising commercial roofing projects (preferred).
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of commercial roof systems and installation methods.
- Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and roofing details.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple crews, projects, and priorities.
- Knowledge of OSHA and commercial construction safety practices.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors and safely perform duties on commercial jobsites.
