OverviewChris's Marine is looking for an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Marine Service Writer / Estimator to join our growing team!

In this key position, you'll serve as the primary liaison between our customers and service department, ensuring every boat owner receives outstanding service from check-in to delivery.
Responsibilities
*Greet customers and accurately document concerns regarding boats, outboard engines, trailers, and marine accessories.
* Create detailed repair orders and accurately record customer concerns, requested services, and technician findings.
*Inspect boats and outboard engines to prepare accurate labor and parts estimates.
*Communicate with technicians regarding diagnostics, repair recommendations, required parts, and estimated completion times.
*Present repair estimates, explain recommended services, obtain repair authorizations, and answer customer questions.
*Recommend preventative maintenance, factory-scheduled services, accessories, and performance upgrades.
*Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure timely ordering and repair completion.
*Monitor repair progress and provide customers with regular status updates.
*Review completed work orders for accuracy before customer delivery.
*Prepare completed Repair Orders for customer payment and maintain accurate service records.
*Ensure warranty repairs are properly documented according to manufacturer requirements.
*Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service reception area.
Qualifications
*Previous experience as a Marine Service Writer, Service Advisor, Estimator, or similar role in a marine dealership or repair facility preferred.
*Strong knowledge of outboard engines (Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, etc.), boats, trailers, steering systems, electrical systems, fuel systems, and marine accessories.
*Experience preparing repair estimates using dealership management or estimating software.
*Ability to interpret technician diagnostics and clearly explain repair recommendations to customers.
*Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
*Proven ability to recommend maintenance, repairs, and accessories while building customer trust.
*Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
*Basic computer proficiency and experience using dealership management software.
*Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
*Ability to safely operate boats, trucks, and trailers.
*Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
