Join our vibrant team as a Children’s Ministry Director - Office Assistant, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the administrative operations of our church and children’s ministry. This dynamic position combines office management with direct support to our children's programs, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment for families and staff alike. Your energetic and proactive approach will help foster a positive atmosphere that encourages growth, learning, and community engagement.
Job Summary:
Plan, direct and coordinate meetings and activities for children birth through 6th grade. This is a full-time position expected to average 40 hours per week. Position also includes office duties as listed below. Sunday services and Wednesday night activity times, as well as other planned events are mandatory.
Responsible to:
· Staff Parish Relations Committee and the Pastor.
· The Children’s Council has advisory oversight in day-to-day operations.
Children’s Ministry Responsibilities:
· Oversight of the nursery and children’s classrooms.
- Planning and implementing weekly and other programs deemed beneficial such as VBS, summer activities, etc.
- All meetings should include time for spiritual growth and activities should be fun while instilling a Christian attitude and spirit.
- Curriculum should be selected in collaboration with the Children’s Council.
- Recruit volunteers to lead and/or assist with all programming.
- Plan in cooperation with the Children’s Council and Administrative Council.
- Plan seasonal activities such as Christmas programs, Easter programs, etc. in coordination with the Pastor and the Children’s Council. All children’s activities should be placed on the church calendar during weekly staff meetings.
- Obtain permission slips and emergency information prior to any off campus church activity. Clear communication with parents such activities including cost, times of departure and return, etc.
- Making sure appropriate numbers of adults accompany all groups in their activities away from the church.
- Maintain updated emergency and allergy information on all participating children as well as updated background checks for all adults and youth active in the children’s program.
- Provide children’s program related training for staff, volunteers and parents.
- Attend staff meetings and provide a quarterly report to the Administrative Council.
- Assist in other areas of the church as deemed necessary by the Staff Parish Relations Committee and/or the Pastor.

- Check mail daily, send out meeting notices, work with youth minister for Baccalaureate, etc.

Self-motivation and creativity are a must, as is a collegial relationship with our small but dedicated staff. You will be excited about the opportunity to nurture a growing ministry in a growing church that’s excited about serving the Lord and our surrounding community. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Canva, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publishing software.
Pay: $38,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
