The Foreman is expected to provide excellent client service and produce efficient and effective results in three primary areas:
1) Great communication with clients, sub-contractors, and project managers
2) Produce quality construction projects on time and on budget
3) Submit regular and accurate job progress reports and time logging
Responsibilities:
- Conduct yourself as a positive, frontline representative of Kleiber Construction at all times and uphold company core values.
- Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in all facets of residential construction, including framing, roofing, siding, staircase construction, and finish carpentry.
- Maintain adequate supplies and workforce at each jobsite at all times.
- Ensure that all jobs are completed on time and on budget per scope of work.
- Take ownership of jobsite safety by leading daily safety practices, addressing hazards, and ensuring all team members follow established protocols.
- Maintain regular and ongoing communication with Project Manager, clients, employees, and other trades as necessary throughout the duration of all projects to ensure optimal results.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and subcontractors to operate at highest efficiency and with accountability.
- Proactively schedule subcontractors and material orders and follow the job schedule, working in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Communicate additions to scope of project and provide details for required change orders in collaboration with Project Manager.
- Maintain onsite equipment - check on oil level, coolant level, hydraulic level, inspect for leaks, notify of any issues before equipment leaves the site, wipe down interior, clean glass and vacuum out.
- Take initiative to immediately resolve all jobsite issues and problems and, when necessary and appropriate, defer to the Project Manager for assistance with the solution process.
- Report all actual and potential job delays to the Project Manager immediately along with your two best options to resolve it.
- Communicate weekly job progress with the Project Manager including documenting pictures of work and attaching to Tsheets or uploading directly to Google Drive.
- Execute project closure activities including conducting a final inspection with the Project Manager to compile and resolve a punch list. Deliver all warranty documentation and operational manuals to the office for inclusion in the customer project binder.
- Ensure comprehension of Kleiber Construction's disciplinary policy, effectively managing related situations as necessary, and providing detailed reports to Human Resources.
- Supervise all employees on your jobsite.
- Train carpenters as needed.
- Attend staff meetings, jobsite meetings and training as required.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of carpentry experience
- OSHA training preferred
- Team player with proven track record of excellent leadership
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Well-versed in construction methodologies and procedures
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
