We are one of the largest trucking companies in Southern California hauling various types of aggregates. We operate 2 axle trucks and bottom dump trailers. Our equipment is challenged daily thru rough terrain and demanding jobsites. With that, we are seeking experienced mechanics to help us maintain our fleet.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive 90 day inspections, lubrication, and repairs on our tractors and trailers.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as foundation brake repairs, suspension repairs, wheel end repairs, basic wiring knowledge (7 way wiring) with the ability to troubleshoot and properly repair issues due to shorts etc.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to assemble or modify parts as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, and ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Applicant must possess all the basic tooling needed to complete the regular daily duties.
Skills
- Proven experience or extensive mechanic experience with heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Torching, welding and fabrication skills are not necessary but welcomed and often needed to maintain our equipment
- Education in "Out of Service Issues" and general safety when working around heavy equipment are needed.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform repairs in the field if need be, under trucks, and in tight / awkward positions.
Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
