Position Overview
Origen is an elevated, Tulum-inspired dining experience offering refined coastal Mexican cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and a vibrant, high-energy atmosphere. We are seeking a polished and detail-driven Server Assistant to support our service team in delivering a seamless, high-end guest experience.
This role is critical in maintaining the flow, timing, and presentation expected in an upscale restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
Service Support & Flow
- Assist servers in delivering a smooth, well-paced dining experience
- Anticipate guest and table needs before being asked
- Support coursing, timing, and transitions throughout the meal
- Maintain constant awareness of dining room activity and guest experience
Table Maintenance & Guest Experience
- Ensure tables are consistently clean, organized, and presentation-ready
- Clear, reset, and maintain tables promptly and quietly
- Refill water, polish glassware, and assist with small guest needs
- Interact with guests in a professional, polished, and unobtrusive manner
Food & Beverage Assistance
- Support food running when needed, ensuring proper placement and presentation
- Assist in delivering beverages, including wine service support (polishing, staging, etc.)
- Work alongside bartenders and runners to maintain seamless execution
Attention to Detail
- Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout the dining room
- Ensure service stations are fully stocked and maintained at all times
- Polish silverware, glassware, and maintain back-of-house standards
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management
- Maintain strong communication to ensure efficient service flow
- Support team members during high-volume periods with urgency and professionalism
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience preferred (fine dining or upscale environment a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Ability to anticipate needs and think ahead
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-energy environment
