Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate, innovative, and results-driven Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations of our luxury lifestyle hotel. The Executive Chef is responsible for the overall direction, quality, and profitability of all culinary outlets, including the restaurant, bar, in-room dining, banquets, catering, and special events.
The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader with a strong background in global cuisine, menu development, banquet execution, and financial performance. This individual has a proven track record of creating memorable dining experiences while driving revenue, maximizing profitability, and developing high-performing culinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day culinary operations while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Develop innovative, seasonally inspired menus that showcase global flavors while aligning with the hotel's concept and brand standards.
- Oversee all banquet, catering, wedding, and private event culinary operations, ensuring flawless execution for events of all sizes.
- Collaborate with Food & Beverage leadership to develop creative dining experiences, promotions, and special events that increase guest engagement and revenue.
- Analyze menu performance, food costs, labor expenses, and profitability to identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational efficiency.
- Create and implement strategic menu engineering initiatives that maximize sales and profit margins.
- Ensure all culinary operations consistently meet health department regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop culinary talent while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
- Build schedules, manage labor productivity, and control overtime while maintaining exceptional service levels.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and oversee purchasing, inventory management, and product quality.
- Partner with Sales and Catering teams to customize menus and deliver exceptional culinary experiences for group business and special events.
- Drive innovation through new menu concepts, seasonal offerings, and locally inspired ingredients.
- Maintain equipment and kitchen facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning for the culinary division.
- Lead by example, promoting accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Executive Chef experience in an upscale, luxury, or lifestyle hotel environment.
- Proven experience overseeing restaurant, banquet, catering, and large-scale event operations.
- Strong background in global cuisine with the ability to create diverse and innovative menus.
- Demonstrated success in menu engineering, food cost management, and increasing food and beverage revenue.
- Proven ability to drive profitability while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Strong knowledge of culinary trends, sustainability, and locally sourced ingredients.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing diverse culinary teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and inventory control.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and local health codes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to life at least 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with Hyatt or other luxury hospitality brands preferred.
- Experience leading multiple culinary outlets within a full-service hotel.
- Certified Executive Chef (CEC) designation is a plus.
