A recycling and environmental services operation is hiring a Senior Diesel Mechanic in Houston, TX to repair and maintain a fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks. Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform minor and major repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and applicable fleet vehicles to factory and industry standards.
- Complete preventative maintenance services, including inspections, tire rotations, oil changes, and general upkeep.
- Diagnose vehicle issues, troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions, and work with the repair team to plan repairs.
- Repair, modify, and maintain fleet vehicles to support safe, reliable operation.
- Inspect fleet vehicles to support DOT compliance, including brake maintenance and required safety checks.
- Maintain accurate repair, maintenance, and daily reporting records, including mechanical maintenance reports.
- Monitor equipment, parts, and supply inventory levels and communicate shop needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow company, DOT, and OSHA safety requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of fleet maintenance experience on heavy-duty diesel trucks
- Ability to diagnose problems and troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions
- Ability to read and comprehend technical reference materials, including equipment and repair manuals
- Experience using Microsoft and diagnostic applications
- Strong attention to detail with a prompt, professional, and dependable work approach
- CDL Class A or B
- Welding and body fabrication experience

Compensation:
- $26.00 – $36.00/hour starting pay based on experience and qualifications
