About Us
We're an LGBT-owned and operated immigration law firm built on a simple belief: everyone deserves a fierce advocate, especially the communities most often pushed to the margins. We serve a primarily Hispanic clientele in deportation defense and family immigration, and we measure our success by the families we keep together and the futures we protect. If you've spent part of your career in non-profit or community work because you wanted your law degree to mean something, you'll feel at home here.
The Role
This is a production-focused attorney role at the heart of how we serve clients. You'll oversee the output of our caseworker team, keep our standard of service high, and step in directly with clients to provide guidance and support. You'll be the person who makes sure no case slips and no client feels like a number. We see this position as a true growth opportunity — for the right person, there's a path to partnering down the road.
What you'll do
- Oversee and quality-check caseworker output across both family immigration and removal defense matters
- Manage USCIS family-based and humanitarian filings, including I-130 petitions, adjustment of status (I-485) and consular processing, waivers (I-601/I-601A), removal of conditions (I-751), VAWA self-petitions (I-360), U visas (I-918), and naturalization (N-400)
- Handle EOIR removal defense in proceedings under INA § 240, including cancellation of removal for non-LPRs (EOIR-42B) and LPRs (EOIR-42A), asylum, withholding, and CAT protection (I-589), bond hearings, and master calendar and individual/merits hearings
- Meet with clients, provide legal guidance, and ensure a consistently high standard of care
- Support, mentor, and troubleshoot alongside our caseworker team
- Help us refine our processes so we serve more people, better
What we're looking for
- Licensed attorney in good standing with the California State Bar (early-career welcome — roughly 3–4 years of relevant experience)
- Hands-on familiarity with the filings and proceedings above, or a strong foundation in either family immigration or removal defense and the drive to grow into the other
- Background or genuine interest in non-profit / community-serving work
- Fluent English required; Spanish strongly preferred given the community we serve
- Someone who identifies with our values and wants to stand up for oppressed communities, not just bill hours
Why join us
You'll do work that matters, with people who share your "why," and you'll have a real runway to grow into firm leadership. We're small enough that your contribution is visible and valued, and mission-driven enough that you'll never wonder whether your work is making a difference.
