Adult Kickball League Official
Durham Parks and Recreation is seeking officials for Adult Kickball League games during the fall 2026 and spring 2027 seasons. This is an independent contractor (1099) opportunity and is not a City employee position. Individuals selected will provide officiating services under contract and are responsible for meeting all applicable tax obligations associated with independent contractor status.
Schedule & Pay
- Fall league games may be played September-October (November if needed)
- Spring league games may be played March-April (May if needed)
- Games are primarily on Thursday nights (with some Tuesday nights as well). Games are typically at 7pm and 8pm.
- All games are played at Herndon Park (511 Scott King Rd)
- Pay rate = $35 per game
- 19-20 total games officiated per season
We are looking for individuals with:
- Strong knowledge of baseball, softball, or kickball rules.
- Prior experience as a sports official.
- The ability to interact positively with sport participants and provide excellent customer service.
- The ability to make quick decisions under pressure and de-escalate conflict.
