Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant / Sterile Processing Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and safety. This role combines clinical support with sterile processing responsibilities, ensuring that medical instruments and equipment are meticulously cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use in various medical settings. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to facilitate efficient patient flow, maintain high standards of infection control, and support clinical operations. Duties
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and surgical tools following strict infection control protocols
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and explaining procedures
- Support clinical procedures by handling phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support when needed
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient information, and treatment notes
- Perform routine patient care tasks such as taking vital signs, explaining pre-procedure instructions, and assisting with mobility or comfort measures
- Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and ensure proper storage and disposal of contaminated materials
Experience
- Previous experience in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics with exposure to emergency medicine preferred
- Hands-on experience with sterile processing techniques in a hospital or surgical setting
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for effective patient care support
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management
- Experience performing phlebotomy is preferred
- Inpatient experience in medical-surgical units or PACU settings is advantageous
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
