Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent patient assessment skills, and a passion for providing exceptional pre-surgical care. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations.
- Prepare patients for surgery by verifying consent forms, ensuring proper documentation, and explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety.
- Administer medications and IV infusions with precision while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Monitor patient status during pre-op procedures, recognizing signs of distress or complications promptly.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic.
- Educate patients on post-operative instructions and ensure understanding of care plans before transfer or discharge.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of practice with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Prior experience in perioperative nursing, surgical units, or critical care settings such as ICU or emergency medicine is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic techniques, and IV insertion procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
- Strong assessment skills with the ability to recognize acute changes in patient condition quickly.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including those with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care.

Pay: $31.92 - $52.24 per hour
