Position Summary of the Robotic Maintenance Technician:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain robotic systems and PLC-controlled automation equipment in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates bring strong mechanical/electrical maintenance experience, hands-on robotics and PLC troubleshooting skills, and a safety-first, team-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities of the Robotic Maintenance Technician:
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, upgrade, and maintain industrial robots and PLC-controlled systems
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls issues — including robot faults and PLC logic/program errors — replace or repair defective components, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic cells and related plant equipment to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, prints, schematics, PLC ladder logic, and work orders to complete maintenance tasks accurately
- Use hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment safely and effectively
- Communicate openly with peers, operators, and management regarding equipment issues, repair progress, and maintenance needs
- Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures at all times
- Support compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001:2015 standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications & Requirements of the Robotic Maintenance Technician:
- Minimum of five (5) years of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial robots and PLC-controlled equipment required
- Prior experience in an Automotive Tier 1 facility strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and troubleshooting production equipment
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001:2015 quality and environmental standards
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent attendance and reliability are required
- Crane certification and forklift license preferred or required

- Work performed in a well-ventilated plant floor environment
- Frequent communication with employees, peers, and management
- Noisy production environment with frequent interruptions and competing demands
- Overtime required as needed, with scheduled blackout dates to protect personal time
- Occasional travel may be required for specialized training on robotic and automation systems
