The Gardens at Orangeville is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our skilled nursing facility in Orangeville, PA.
The Activities Assistant conducts activities for residents under the direction of the Director of Activities and helps ensure residents' emotional, recreational, and social needs are met through meaningful engagement and programming.
Responsibilities
The Activities Assistant is responsible for supporting resident quality of life by promoting social interaction, recreation, and engagement.
Assist residents with daily activities such as writing letters, making phone calls, and registering to vote.
Maintain records related to resident participation and activity attendance.
Assist with mail delivery and escort residents to activity programs.
Help care for facility flowers, plants, pets, and fish as part of activity programming.
Assist with monthly newsletter preparation and fundraising efforts.
Make announcements over the facility P.A. system as needed.
Conduct or assist with activity programs that provide entertainment, exercise, creativity, relaxation, and social interaction.
Provide residents with crafts, supplies, materials, and equipment during activities.
Encourage residents to participate in crafts, games, and recreational opportunities to maximize independence and enjoyment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous long-term care experience or experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred.
Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays.
COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved exemption is presented upon hire.
