Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight across various routes while ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle different types of trucks and trailers.
Duties
- Operate trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely.
- Drive various types of trucks including flatbeds, dump trucks, and refrigerated trailers.
- Follow designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo.
- Load and unload freight as necessary, utilizing forklifts when required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delays.
- Ensure that all cargo is secured properly for transport.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Familiarity with route driving and freight handling procedures.
- Ability to operate various truck types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and dump trucks.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to trucking and freight transport.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
