Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Remote Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and clinical evaluations using evidence-based practices and standardized tools such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Deliver individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions utilizing modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and other evidence-based approaches.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or safety concerns, ensuring prompt and effective responses aligned with clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
- Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs, including those with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities, incorporating behavior management and social work principles.
- Maintain meticulous clinical documentation standards within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems, including patient care notes, medical terminology entries, progress reports, and treatment updates in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management efforts to coordinate care for clients with complex needs such as PTSD care, addiction counseling, chronic pain management, or special education requirements.
- Stay current with research developments in mental health counseling and clinical research to continuously enhance service quality and therapeutic outcomes.
Skills
- Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, behavior management, and grief counseling.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation purposes.
- Expertise in telehealth therapy platforms with excellent client communication skills in a virtual setting.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis management protocols while adhering to clinical ethical guidelines.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient assessments and treatment progress.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions such as PTSD, Geriatrics issues, gender issues counseling, chronic pain counseling, and addiction counseling.
