We are seeking an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Clinical Supervisor to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor and provide clinical supervision to Residents in Counseling working toward independent licensure in Virginia.
Position Summary
The Clinical Supervisor will provide ongoing individual and/or group clinical supervision to KENTALA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH Residents in Counseling. The ideal candidate is an experienced clinician who enjoys mentoring developing therapists and is committed to ethical, clinically sound, and high-quality care.
This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work with a growing behavioral health practice without the commitment of a full-time supervisory position.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision to Residents in Counseling in accordance with Virginia licensure requirements and applicable regulations.
- Conduct regularly scheduled supervision meetings.
- Review and provide feedback regarding clinical documentation, treatment planning, diagnoses, and clinical decision-making.
- Support supervisees in developing their clinical skills, professional identity, and confidence.
- Monitor supervisee caseloads and clinical work to promote quality and ethical care.
- Provide consultation regarding complex clinical cases, risk assessment, crisis situations, and appropriate referrals.
- Maintain appropriate supervision documentation and records.
- Communicate with KENTALA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH leadership regarding supervisee progress and any significant clinical or ethical concerns.
- Help ensure supervisees practice within their scope of competence and applicable laws and regulations.
- Foster a supportive, professional, and growth-oriented supervisory relationship.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current, unrestricted Virginia LPC license.
- Eligibility to provide clinical supervision to Residents in Counseling in Virginia.
- Appropriate clinical experience and knowledge of Virginia's supervision requirements.
- Strong understanding of ethical standards, documentation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries.
- Professional liability insurance appropriate for independent clinical supervision.
Preferred:
- Previous experience supervising Residents in Counseling.
- Experience working in an outpatient behavioral health setting.
- Experience working with adults, first responders, veterans, healthcare professionals, educators, law enforcement, or other helping professionals.
