Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Painter to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of Large big box stores. All of our work is Retail repaint work. All work is night shift (830pm-5am)
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately execute painting projects according to project requirements
- Apply coatings using various methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (including airless paint spraying and conventional spraying), and construction spray painting techniques
- Use hand tools, ladders, and other equipment safely and effectively to reach high or difficult areas
- Conduct surface preparation on construction sites by removing old paint, repairing damaged surfaces, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations
- Select appropriate paints and coatings based on color theory principles and project specifications while maintaining visual color consistency through color matching techniques
- Follow safety protocols diligently by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to all safety regulations on-site
- Maintain accurate documentation of work progress and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- All work is 3rd shift (830pm- 5am)
Skills
- Extensive experience in commercial painting including construction estimating, surface preparation, coating application, and restoration projects
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for precise project execution
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety regulations and proper use of safety equipment such as respiratory protection
- Skilled in various painting techniques including brush painting, roller painting, airless paint spraying, conventional spray painting, and industrial coating methods
- Ability to work confidently at heights using ladders or scaffolding while maintaining safety standards
- Familiarity with color theory for accurate color matching and visual color comparison skills
- Experience with masonry, stucco application, plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, framing carpentry, remodeling, maintenance work, handyman tasks, masonry work or industrial painting is a plus
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities accurately
- Knowledge of interpreting technical drawings or blueprints related to construction or renovation projects
- Strong construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs
