We’re a growing startup private pediatric practice in northwest Mississippi seeking an experienced and motivated LPN to join our team. Our ideal LPN is someone who loves working with children and families and has experience in pediatrics, including leadership or independent responsibilities. You’ll be an essential part of our clinical team and help ensure a smooth and caring experience for every patient.
Key Responsibilities:
· Working independently and helping build efficient clinical workflows
· Supporting the pediatricians with patient care tasks
· Rooming patients, verifying health history of patients, taking vital signs
· Administering vaccines and assisting with procedures
· Collecting specimens for laboratory analysis
· Administering medication and treatments as directed
· Documenting assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results in medical records.
· Maintaining clinical supplies and cleanliness
· Adhering to infection control and safety guidelines and confidentiality policies
· Providing guidance and support to families
· Providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions
· Assisting with front desk tasks, such as collecting demographics information, verifying insurance, collecting patient payments, answering phones, and scheduling patient appointments.
· Adhering to the scope of practice for medical assistants in the state of Mississippi, performing only those skills allowed by state law
Qualifications:
· 2+ years of experience in a pediatric setting
· LPN license in Mississippi (current and in good standing)
· Leadership or lead nurse experience highly preferred
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Comfortable working independently in a startup practice
Knowledge of:
· Medical terminology and basic anatomy
· Health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions
· Documentation standards
· Equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment
· Basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening
· Infectious disease management and control as well as safety standards
Skills:
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Following written and oral medical orders
· Performing finger stick and heel stick blood draws
· Initiating appropriate emergency procedures
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
