Position: CNC Operator (Second Shift 3 PM - 7 PM)
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to safely and accurately operate Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinery during our second shift (3 PM - 7 PM). This role is essential to ensuring the production of high-quality parts and materials by programming machines for precise operations. Knowledge of Haas controls is a plus. Candidates must be responsible and adhere to all safety guidelines. A quick job knowledge test will be required at the time of the in-person interview.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate CNC Mills/Lathes to perform assigned tasks efficiently.
- Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications to understand the task requirements and desired results.
- Utilize and understand basic measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, etc.).
- Translate instructions into computer commands for machines to execute correct functions.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts into machines.
- Conduct test runs to ensure machine outputs meet specifications.
- Monitor machines during operations and make necessary adjustments for optimal results.
- Inspect and measure finished products to verify compliance with requirements.
- Perform daily maintenance checks on machinery to ensure proper functionality.
EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator.
- Basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM software.
- Strong attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
- Effective communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate or A.S. Degree in Tool & Die or Machining Trades is preferred.
- Completion of an apprenticeship is a plus.
- Strong math skills, including knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, and basic math for precise calculations.
- Problem-solving skills for performing inspections and troubleshooting machines.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks involving bending and squatting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design plans.
- Effective multi-tasking skills to manage simultaneous duties.
- Must have own hand tools for job duties.
- 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Job Type: Part-time (Second Shift: 3 PM - 7 PM, Monday through Friday)
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
