Overview
Title: CAD Drawer / CAD Drafter (Fusion 360)
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled CAD Drawer proficient in Autodesk Fusion 360 to create accurate 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing ready technical drawings. This role supports product development, prototyping, and production by translating engineering concepts into precise digital designs and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D technical drawings using Autodesk Fusion 360.
- Produce manufacturing-ready drawings with proper dimensioning, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Translate sketches, concepts, and engineering requirements into clear, production-ready documentation.
- Generate and export files (e.g., STEP, DXF, PDF) for fabrication, CNC, 3D printing, or other manufacturing processes.
- Maintain organized CAD libraries, revision control, and design documentation.
- Support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) improvements and rapid prototyping efforts.
- Adhere to company drafting standards and help refine internal CAD practices as needed.
- Assist with other related drafting and documentation tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma, certificate, or equivalent practical experience in CAD, Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Proven proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 (parametric modeling, assemblies, and technical drawings).
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, GD&T, and the ability to produce accurate manufacturing drawings.
- Experience in creating clear, well-structured technical documentation and BOMs.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and file/version management habits.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional CAD experience (Fusion 360).
- Experience with design for manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal, 3D printing.
- Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and basic mechanical design principles.
- Background in engineering a plus.
