Phlebotomist Technician Job Summary:
Blue Sky MD Phlebotomist Technicians support the operational flow of the clinic by punctually and efficiently drawing patient labs. The Phlebotomist Technician is a core role within the organization and is integral to the support and care of all of our patients. Blue Sky MD Phlebotomist Technicians must be a multi-faceted employee and able to cross-train and assist in a variety of functions in the organization.
Phlebotomist Technician Responsibilities:
The Blue Sky MD Phlebotomist Technician position will have the following job responsibilities • Arrange daily activities based on urgency of requests for samples • Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents or other means • Perform venipuncture while adhering to safety and good laboratory practices. • Provide good patient service skills to promote a positive patient experience. • Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples • Ensure lab orders are prepped 2 days prior to patient appointments • Label and handle samples correctly and prepare for delivery to testing lab(s) • Documents regulatory information by maintain maintenance and equipment logs • Take an active role in the Quality Assurance process by reporting concerns and providing feedback for Lab related investigations.
- Cross-train to assist other positions within the clinic, i.e. nurse visits, front desk, etc.
- Other duties may be assigned according to business needs
Education Required:
Minimum: Associate’s degree
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
Experience Required:
- 2 years of experience as a Phlebotomist Technician or relative position.
- Experience with typing and computer applications, including Electronic Medical Records.
- Excellent grammatical skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask also important.

- Commensurate with experience

M-Th 7:15-4:30pm; F 7:15-1pm
