Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Patient Access Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative functions essential to smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of medical administrative procedures, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care by ensuring efficient appointment scheduling, accurate documentation, and effective insurance verification.
Duties
- This role ensures patients gain access to care by managing registration, insurance verification, and payment responsibilities.
- This role requires strong communication, computer, and customer service skills to support hospital operations efficiently while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and medical standards.
- Patient Registration/ Admitting: Complete registration and pre‑registration for outpatient and inpatient accounts, ensuring accurate data entry.
- Insurance Verification: Calculate and secure patient liabilities including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.
- Communication: Interact effectively with patients, guarantors, insurance companies, physicians, and staff.

- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA laws and hospital policies.
- Technical Skills: Use Word, Excel, and multiple computer systems efficiently; maintain accurate records.
- Customer Service: Provide hospitable, professional service in a fast‑paced environment, including phone support and off‑site assistance.
MUST HAVE:
- Experience: 2+ years of Patient Registration / Admitting experience.
- Typing Speed: Minimum 45+ WPM with high accuracy.
- Solid experience in Medical Billing and Insurance Verification/ Authorization.
- Should have Valid Driver’s License and the ability to travel to off-site locations (required for Outpatient/Financial Counseling roles).
- Languages: Bilingual fluency in Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin) is highly preferred.
Shift Timing: 5AM-10AM
Weekly schedule: M-F

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
