Under the direction of the Materials Distribution Manager, [and her/his delegates which may include the Department Assistant Manager and Inventory Specialist], the Supply Chain Technician II is responsible for supporting St. Luke's Hospital supply chain. The Supply Chain Technician II oversees aspects of the assigned shift operations of the Department, and is responsible for facilitating, performing and monitoring all key aspects of the Supply Chain, including receiving, inventory control, replenishment of Hospital supplies, linen and resources. Supply chain responsibilities include 6Rs: the right product, in the right quantity, in the right condition and packaging, delivered to the right place and the right customer, at the right time.This position is a on-licensed/certified staff memeber authorized to transport and/or stock medications to meet specified essential job duties. This includes staff who do not have the authority to prescribe,dispense and/or administer medications.
The Supply Chain Technician II is responsible for:
a) providing guidance and direction to Supply Chain Technicians I regarding shift job assignments and prioritization;
b) evaluating and controlling inventory;
c) delivery of supplies to assigned areas;
d) stocking supplies in all assigned areas;
e) insuring that Bar Codes are available and applied to all patient chargeable and other appropriate items and supplies;
f) demonstrating customer service and FACES skills when dealing with customers, patients, suppliers and co-workers;
g) promoting teamwork within the department; and
h) performing job duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with St. Luke's mission and values.
i) acts as preceptor of coworkers and non-Supply Chain staff;
j) coordinates services and resources with Materials Distribution and the departments they service;
k) functions as technical resource to clinicians and other employees;
l) assists St. Luke's employees with trouble shooting problems and acts as a resource in problem resolution;
m) works independently with limited or little supervision, to perform and complete all aspects of the job
n) works with staff to assure that Patient Charges are inputted in a timely manner.
n) verifies work in a timely manner;
o) identifies procedures and behaviors that are inappropriate or unacceptable for managerial actions.
p) responsible for conducting routine storeroom checks for inventory accuracies.
Transport and/or stock medications
RECEIVING: 20%
- Process inbound deliveries and outbound shipments on Receiving Dock.
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe Receiving area
- Knowledge of PMM, Alliant, STAR systems and PC applications, as appropriate, to perform job responsibilities
- Validate physical receipts with packing slips / supplier documentation; identify and report any discrepancies
- Validate physical receipts with purchase orders / authorizations; identify and report any discrepancies
- Enter receipts accurately into PMM System
- Create delivery documentation within PMM System - Sort incoming supplies (i.e., per deliver-to locations)
- Efficiently deliver sorted supplies to appropriate departments / individuals and obtain delivery validation (e.g., delivery signature)
- Report discrepant packing slips to Assistant Manager and Purchasing Department Buyer
- Maintain cohesive files of delivery documentation - Forward 'Packing Slip Invoices' to Accounts Payable in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of inventory items, including medical gases
- Process and document returned goods, including outbound tracking number(s)
- Participate and/or facilitate Departmental programs
- Maintain customer service levels regarding order fill rates, order accuracy and timely delivery of supplies
- Meet with Manager / Assistant Manager to discuss issues and operational improvements for improved services
- Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of co-workers, as directed.

LINEN: 20% - Work Linen Department for inbound deliveries and outbound shipments of linens - Knowledge of PMM, Alliant, STAR systems and PC applications, as appropriate, to perform job responsibilities - Validate linen deliveries with manifests / supplier documentation; identify and report any discrepancies - Validate physical receipts with linen orders / authorizations; identify and report any discrepancies - Sort and put-away incoming linen (i.e., to specific departments, to rebuild carts, to shelves, etc.) - Stock / build linen carts to designate par levels by item - Deliver stocked linen carts to departments in a timely and efficient manner, per designated daily delivery schedule and upon request - Deliver additional linen requirements in a timely and efficient manner, upon request - Collect and return 'empty' linen carts in a timely and efficient manner to Linen Department, per designated daily delivery schedule and upon request - Input linen usage by cart into Alliant System (or other linen management software, if applicable) - Identify, document and notify Assistant Manager / Manager of quality and quantity issues with linen provider - Identify, document and notify Assistant Manager / Manager of any service issues with linen provider - Place linen order with linen provider (via fax, phone, internet, etc., as appropriate) - Assist in physical count of COG, Specialty Items and other linen inventory items - Clear hallway of clean linens at end of each workday -Transport and/or stock medications

MATERIALS DISTRIBUTION: 60%
- Work Storeroom for inbound deliveries and outbound shipments
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe Storeroom area

- As appropriate, validate physical receipts with packing slips / supplier documentation; identify and report any discrepancies
- Sort and put-away incoming supplies to designated bin / stocking locations
- Perform inventory counts of Divisions and Department Supply Rooms / Cabinets
- Rotate stock and check expiration dating / outdates on Divisions / Departments and in Storeroom to minimize inventory obsolescence
- Enter inventory counts into PMM System (to create requisitions / pick tickets)
- Input requisitions into PMM System
- Pull the requisition / fill requisitions and orders from Storeroom stock
- Deliver supplies to departments / individuals in a timely and efficient manner, per designated daily delivery schedule and upon request
- Deliver additional supply requirements in a timely and efficient manner, upon request
- Collect and return supply carts in a timely and efficient manner to Storeroom, per designated daily delivery schedule and upon request
- Barcode supplies for patient charge items
- Identify, document and notify Assistant Manager / Manager of quality and quantity issues with supplies and inventories (e.g., stock-outs, insufficient safety stocks, excessive inventory, obsolete and expired inventory, etc.)
- Report discrepant inventory levels to Assistant Manager / Manager
- Maintain cohesive files of documentation
- Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound inventory items
- Input patient charges timely and accurately into PMM and/or STAR System(s), as appropriate. Validate transmittal of patient charge inputs via batch totals.

Employee is required to sit occasionally and walk continuously; Employee must lift/carry a light (1-20 lbs.), medium (21-50 lbs.) and heavy (50 lbs. +) loads frequently. Employee may be required to lift over 100 lbs. with assistance. Employee is frequently required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, lift waist to overhead. Employee is occasionally required to reach forward and reach overhead. For repetitive action, employee is required to perform simple grasping/pulling. Employee is occasionally exposed to electrical hazards and CRT terminal work. (Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%, Continuously: 67-100%) The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.
