JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Admin Assistant (Engineering, Technical) FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt
REPORTS TO: Chief Technical Manager, Engineering
SUMMARY
This is a responsible position requiring initiation, administration and follow-up of KBPD activity on assigned engineering projects, as well as the items listed below.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Under general supervision, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Generate and complete KRA documentation for assigned personnel.
- Maintain Organizational Charts and staffing documentation for assigned group.
- Assist in A3 generation and release per CTM, TM, PE instruction.
- Assist TM, PE with material testing and lab requests as needed. Compile and maintain results.
- Prepare and complete 3D prototypes in a timely manner. Maintain 3D prototype equipment and materials. Track timing and costs associated with the prototype machines.
- Generate POs based on engineering needs.
- Update KBPD documentation as instructed.
- In conjunction with PE, work with prototype parts. This includes sourcing, delivery, assembly and rework as necessary.
- Support pre-production builds. (Help acquire parts, build assemblies, safe launch, logistics, etc.)
- At the direction of engineering staff, set up and/or back up tool trials and sampling at internal SPI or external locations.
- Prepare shipment documents as needed, work with logistics, tooling, engineering teams to coordinate.
- Track and distribute meeting notes as needed.
- Interface with outside SPI support sources and vendors.
- Work with parts as assigned, including taking measurements for KBPD documents, reworking or general builds as necessary.
- Work with engineering staff to organize, maintain, and track build area inventories.
- Check for relevant incoming shipments.
- General office & administrative functions as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Two years manufacturing related experience (preferably in automotive) and some college instruction [preferably in an engineering curriculum].
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Possesses the ability to learn routines quickly, train others for routine positions and gathers information.
- A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional Score of 20 on the cognitive portion).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position typically does not require any travel.
