Mind Works is a multidisciplinary pediatric behavioral health practice dedicated to helping children thrive at home, school, and play. We serve children and adolescents ages 3 through 17 and their caregivers through evidence-based psychotherapy, psychological and developmental evaluations, parent training, and medication management.
Our collaborative team includes psychologists, licensed professional counselors, clinical social workers, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, psychometrists, and operational leaders who work together to provide coordinated, high-quality care.
We are seeking an experienced Texas LPC-S who is passionate about both pediatric clinical care and developing the next generation of counselors. This position is designed for a clinician who wants to expand their impact beyond an individual caseload by mentoring LPC Associates, strengthening clinical quality, and helping shape a growing supervision program.
The Clinical Supervisor will maintain a reduced pediatric caseload while providing structured supervision, clinical consultation, documentation oversight, and professional development to assigned LPC Associates. The position will partner closely with the Chief Clinical Officer and Site Leads to support ethical practice, sound clinical judgment, timely documentation, and consistent standards of care.

Position Structure
The Clinical Supervisor will begin with a structured onboarding and ramp-up period to learn Mind Works’ clinical standards, documentation expectations, systems, and supervision program.
The position will initially maintain a clinical expectation of approximately 25 billable hours per week. This expectation may be adjusted as supervisory responsibilities and the number of assigned LPC Associates increase.
Time within the workweek will be allocated for:
- Individual and group supervision
- Clinical consultation
- Review of progress notes, treatment plans, intake documentation, and other clinical records
- Supervision documentation and regulatory recordkeeping
- Associate feedback, evaluation, and professional development
- Collaboration with the Chief Clinical Officer and Site Leads
LPC Associates will be assigned gradually after the supervisor has completed the initial onboarding and ramp-up period.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPediatric Clinical Care
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families using empirically supported treatment approaches.
- Maintain an assigned clinical caseload consistent with the responsibilities of the supervisory role.
- Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation.
- Provide parent consultation, caregiver education, and skills training as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans based on clinical needs.
- Collaborate with psychologists, psychiatric providers, counselors, social workers, and other members of the treatment team.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case consultation and coordinated treatment planning.
- Seek consultation when clinically or ethically appropriate.
- Maintain appropriate communication with patients, caregivers, and members of the treatment team.
Clinical Supervision
- Provide clinical supervision to assigned LPC Associates in accordance with current Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council requirements.
- Establish clear expectations for the supervisory relationship, including supervision frequency, preparation, documentation, communication, performance, and professional conduct.
- Conduct individual and group supervision sessions as appropriate.
- Review clinical cases, treatment plans, interventions, ethical concerns, professional development needs, and progress toward independent licensure.
- Help Associates develop clinical judgment, case conceptualization, evidence-based treatment planning, ethical decision-making, and professional identity.
- Provide timely, specific, and developmentally appropriate feedback.
- Serve as a resource for complex, high-risk, or challenging clinical situations.
- Monitor each Associate’s clinical development and progress toward licensure requirements.
- Maintain all required supervision records, agreements, evaluations, and supporting documentation.
- Complete and submit required supervision documentation within applicable regulatory timelines.
- Identify performance or competency concerns promptly and communicate those concerns clearly.
- Develop, implement, and monitor written remediation plans when necessary.
- Coordinate with clinical and operational leadership when an Associate is not meeting clinical, ethical, documentation, or employment expectations.
- Support appropriate transitions when a supervisory relationship begins or ends.
Texas supervision requires the LPC Associate to receive at least four hours of supervision per month while actively engaged in counseling, with no more than 50% of total supervision hours received in a group setting.
Documentation Oversight and Clinical Quality
- Review, provide feedback on, and approve clinical documentation completed by assigned LPC Associates.
- Review progress notes, treatment plans, intake documentation, discharge documentation, and other required clinical records.
- Promote timely, accurate, clinically meaningful, and payer-compliant documentation.
- Identify recurring documentation trends and provide targeted coaching and education.
- Partner with Site Leads and the Chief Clinical Officer to address documentation concerns and professional development needs.
- Participate in documentation audits and clinical quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor Associate compliance with licensing regulations, ethical standards, payer requirements, and Mind Works policies.
- Document supervision discussions, feedback, performance concerns, and action steps as required.
- Maintain supervision records in a secure, organized, and confidential manner.
Mind Works’ supervision framework includes clinical skill development, case review, documentation oversight, evaluation, ethical decision-making, remediation, and regulatory recordkeeping.
Mentorship and Professional Development
- Build professional, supportive, and accountable supervisory relationships with LPC Associates.
- Help Associates identify strengths, professional goals, and areas requiring development.
- Promote self-reflection, critical thinking, professional accountability, and openness to feedback.
- Create a learning environment in which Associates can discuss mistakes, uncertainties, ethical concerns, and difficult cases.
- Facilitate case consultation, clinical discussion, role-play, skills practice, and other learning activities.
- Recommend appropriate continuing education, clinical resources, and professional development opportunities.
- Support Associates in developing competence in pediatric assessment, treatment planning, caregiver engagement, clinical documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Model ethical conduct, professional boundaries, effective communication, and commitment to continuous learning.
- Participate in continuing education required to maintain LPC-S status and remain current with changes in Texas supervision requirements.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Partner with the Chief Clinical Officer in implementing and maintaining the LPC Associate supervision program.
- Collaborate with Site Leads regarding Associate performance, documentation, attendance, productivity, and professional development.
- Communicate concerns directly, promptly, and professionally.
- Participate in clinical leadership meetings, case consultations, and quality improvement activities as assigned.
- Contribute recommendations for improving the supervision program, Associate onboarding, documentation systems, clinical resources, and professional development.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries between clinical supervision, employment supervision, and operational management.
- Support Mind Works’ mission of providing collaborative, ethical, evidence-based pediatric behavioral healthcare.
- Perform other duties reasonably related to the position.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling or a closely related mental health field.
- Active Texas Licensed Professional Counselor license with current LPC-S designation in good standing.
- Current eligibility to supervise LPC Associates in Texas.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience providing psychotherapy to children and/or adolescents.
- Demonstrated competence in child, adolescent, and family treatment.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based clinical interventions.
- Strong understanding of treatment planning, risk assessment, ethical decision-making, and clinical documentation.
- Ability to provide direct, constructive, and developmentally appropriate feedback.
- Ability to address clinical, documentation, ethical, and performance concerns promptly.
- Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health practice.
- Proficiency with electronic health records.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in New Braunfels, Texas.
- Ability to maintain the clinical and supervisory schedule required for this full-time position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising LPC Associates.
- Experience reviewing and approving supervisee documentation.
- Experience developing clinicians through structured feedback, evaluation, and remediation.
- Experience working in an outpatient pediatric behavioral health practice.
- Experience treating children across multiple developmental stages.
- Experience with parent consultation, caregiver training, or family-based interventions.
- Experience in multidisciplinary or integrated behavioral healthcare.
- Registered Play Therapist, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, or advanced play therapy training.
- Training in trauma-focused treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, parent-child interventions, autism-informed care, or other pediatric treatment modalities.
- Experience using TherapyNotes or a similar electronic health record.
- Experience supporting documentation audits or clinical quality improvement initiatives.
