My client, a growing Civil Engineering firm based in Suffern NY, is currently seeking a professional Civil Engineer to join their expanding team on a full time, permanent Hybrid basis. The company focuses on the development of land for housing clients including sub division, grading, drainage and waste water management including sewer treatment. They work on both individual single family unit development as well as large HOA development throughout New York and New Jersey.
Their ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' of experience in civil engineering with a focus around land development including sub division, drainage, grading and water treatment/management. The succesful candidate must have their PE for NY.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Bachelors'/Masters' degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer Licence for the state of NY, state of NJ in adittion to NY is an advantage.
- Experience working with and communicating with local townships.
- Specific experience relating to land development, grading, sub-divison, drainage, water treatment/management.
- Strong communication skills, both written an verbal, excellent public speaking abilities.
- Able to bring on new contracts, attend client meetings, write proposals and sign off drawings and plans.
Duties & Role
- Develop and review detailed civil engineering designs, including schematics, system designs, and construction plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and other CAD tools.
- Manage project schedules and coordinate construction activities to ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality standards.
- Conduct construction management activities such as site inspections, quality assurance, safety compliance, and progress reporting.
- Utilize GIS platforms like ArcGIS and GIS-based tools for land surveying, spatial analysis, and mapping to support project planning.
- Prepare accurate construction estimates by performing detailed construction estimating and project budgeting.
- Oversee technical writing tasks including reports, specifications, and documentation for permits and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers on soil analysis and foundation design; incorporate hydraulics modeling using SWMM or HEC software for water-related infrastructure projects.
- Perform system design for water treatment, wastewater treatment, stormwater management (using SWMM), and pipeline projects.
- Conduct construction inspection activities ensuring adherence to schematics, drawings, and safety protocols.
