Responsible for preparing and cooking hot menu items according to established recipes and quality standards. Plays a key role in food safety, consistency, and timely service while working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Prepare and cook hot menu items (grilled, sautéed, baked, fried, roasted) according to recipes and standards
Set up and stock hot line stations with required ingredients and equipment
Follow proper portion control and presentation guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and hot line equipment
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, including temperature control and proper food storage
Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to support smooth service flow
Assist with food prep, restocking, and cleaning during and after shifts
Monitor food quality and alert supervisors to shortages, equipment issues, or concerns
Follow kitchen opening, closing, and cleaning procedures
Ability to prepare and cook hot food items consistently in a fast-paced kitchen environment (no experience required)
Knowledge of or willingness to learn food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
Ability to follow recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines
Strong attention to detail and food quality
Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
Comfortable working with hot equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers, and stovetops
