Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated College Access & Student Support Coordinator who leads programs that prepare high school students for postsecondary success through college readiness, scholarship support, career exploration, and one-on-one mentorship. This role coordinates mentorship initiatives while ensuring students receive the academic, social-emotional, and practical guidance needed to navigate the college application and transition process. The coordinator builds and maintains strong relationships with students, families, schools, mentors, colleges, and community partners to expand access to educational opportunities. This position is committed to empowering students to achieve their educational and career goals by fostering confidence, leadership, resilience, and lifelong success.
Duties
College Access Programming
- · Plan and implement outreach strategies to promote college awareness, application processes, and scholarship opportunities across all eligible schools.
- Coordinate community events, workshops, and public relations efforts to engage students and families.
- Support scholarship disbursement, data collection, and application review processes.
- · Partner with community organizations, colleges, and local stakeholders to expand access to educational resources, mentorship opportunities, and professional networks.
Mentorship Coordination
- · Recruit, train, and match mentors with mentees based on compatibility, shared goals, and program needs.
- Develop and implement mentoring curricula for college readiness, scholarship preparation, and career exploration.
- Facilitate one-on-one and group mentoring sessions, providing guidance and support to both mentors and mentees.
Program Development & Operations
- · Design and deliver workshops on college applications, financial aid, and academic planning.
- · Maintain records of participants, mentors, and program activities.
- Collaborate with school staff, college advisors, and community partners to align programming with student needs.
- Represent the organization at school events, college fairs, and community gatherings.
- Track participant academic progress, college enrollment outcomes, scholarship awards, and mentorship engagement to measure program success and support continuous improvement.
- Prepare and submit program reports, participant outcomes, and required documentation in accordance with agency and DYCD requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- A bachelor's degree in education, social work, public administration, human services, or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proven experience in college access programs, student services, or mentorship coordination.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with event planning, community engagement, and data management.

Pay: $60,627.69 - $65,379.58 per year
