Job Summary
The Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager is responsible for arranging vehicle financing, presenting and selling finance and insurance products, and ensuring all transactions comply with federal, state, lender, manufacturer, and dealership requirements. This position works closely with the Sales Department, lenders, and guests to provide financing solutions while maximizing profitability, maintaining compliance, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed monthly finance, product penetration, and profitability goals established by dealership management.
- Review completed vehicle sales transactions and interview guests to determine financing and protection product needs.
- Secure financing through approved lending institutions by matching guests with appropriate loan and lease programs.
- Present all available finance, insurance, and vehicle protection products in a professional, ethical, and compliant manner.
- Explain financing terms, payment options, warranties, service contracts, GAP protection, maintenance plans, and other available products.
- Ensure all required documents are completed accurately, signed, and submitted in a timely manner.
- Verify that every deal complies with dealership policies, lender requirements, manufacturer programs, and applicable federal and state laws.
- Maintain compliance with all regulations, including Truth in Lending (TILA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), OFAC requirements, FTC regulations, and all applicable state laws.
- Submit contracts to financial institutions and follow up to ensure prompt funding.
- Resolve contract discrepancies, funding issues, stipulations, and lender requests promptly.
- Maintain positive working relationships with lending institutions, product providers, and manufacturer representatives.
- Assist Sales Associates and Sales Managers with deal structuring to maximize guest satisfaction and dealership profitability.
- Review credit applications and maintain confidentiality of all customer financial information.
- Monitor contract funding and work with accounting to resolve outstanding receivables.
- Maintain complete and organized deal jackets in accordance with dealership standards.
- Complete all manufacturer-required certification and compliance training.
- Attend sales meetings, finance meetings, and training sessions as scheduled.
- Stay current on lender programs, interest rates, compliance requirements, manufacturer incentives, and industry best practices.
- Provide exceptional guest service by answering financing questions and resolving concerns in a professional manner.

Education and Experience
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of automotive sales, finance, or related dealership experience.
Preferred
- Previous experience as an Automotive Finance & Insurance Manager.
- Experience with CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, RouteOne, or similar dealership software.
- Manufacturer F&I certification.
- College degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently sit for extended periods while reviewing documents and meeting with guests.
- Occasionally stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the dealership.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, and telephones.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to drive dealership vehicles when necessary.
