Home Equipment Technician I – Patient Delivery & Equipment Support
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Weekly On-Call Rotation
The Home Equipment Technician I plays an important role in supporting patient care by delivering durable medical equipment and liquid nutrition products directly to patients’ homes. This position combines delivery responsibilities with patient interaction, equipment setup, and accurate documentation to ensure patients receive the supplies they need and that billing and compliance requirements are met.
This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage physical delivery tasks while maintaining a professional and supportive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver durable medical equipment and liquid nutrition products to patient homes.
- Load assigned delivery items into the vehicle each morning based on the daily delivery list.
- Provide clear explanations to patients regarding equipment and supplies, including basic use and handling.
- Collect and document required information to support accurate billing and compliance.
- Maintain the assigned delivery vehicle, including fueling and general upkeep.
- Provide professional service to patients in a variety of situations, demonstrating patience, professionalism, and adaptability.
Logistics
- Daily delivery routes and logistics are coordinated by the department manager.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Valid and clean driver’s license.
- Ability to safely lift and move 40–50 lbs.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and educate patients.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when collecting and documenting information required for billing and compliance.
